The last decade for Hunter x Hunter hasn’t been ideal due to the author’s health problems, causing pain during illustration. Despite challenges, the author dreams of finishing the manga, his cherished masterpiece.

Some fans suggest letting another artist draw the manga based on the author’s script, but this idea is insensitive. The manga is the author’s creation, and wanting someone else to draw is disrespectful according to Togashi. Togashi, like other manga artists, desires to complete his work himself, valuing the effort and love invested in it.

The first may satisfy 50% and dissatisfy 20%, the second could split evenly, and the third might satisfy only 10% but dissatisfy 90%. Surprisingly, Togashi prefers an ending that fans might not like because he wants to end the series in a way he truly loves while still trying to please fans.

Adding to the interest, Togashi mentioned a fourth option he discarded. If he dies, fans could consider this ending as the official one. It’s about Gon’s granddaughter, Jin, going on a quest to catch a giant fish called the Lake Lord to avoid the pressure of becoming a Hunter.

Despite not wanting to be away for too long like Gon, Jin’s talent is recognized by her parents. The ending shows Gon as a famous hunter, married to Noko, and introduces new characters who could be descendants of the original protagonists in the Hunter x Hunter universe, ending with a symbolic bird flying over different locations.
