According to ScreenRant, the director, O’Connor, and writer Bill Dubuque may also return for the upcoming crime thriller. The pre-production has already started, and the film is expected to go on the floor in the second half of this year. The first film collected a massive $155 million on a budget of $44 million, which suggests that the sequel will likely have a bigger budget.
Along with the director and the screenwriter, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons and Jon Bernthal are expected to return in the sequel. If the film moves according to the plans, it is expected to be released sometime around late 2025.
