The movie was first released in May and has since managed to make its way on the top 10 list of the streaming platform. Although, contradicting its success on Netflix, the movie has not been as popular amongst critics and has been criticized a lot, leading to many mixed reviews. Still, it manages to remain on Netflix’s weekly top 10 list.

Jennifer Lopez Makes Her Mark On Netflix’s Weekly Charts

Jennifer Lopez’s The Mother revolves around an assassin who had been underground for quite a while before she decided to resurface. To protect a daughter she previously gave to foster care, her character is willing to do anything. The movie managed to mark Netflix’s biggest opening weekend as of yet for 2023. More so, it sits on the 6th rank in the top 10 weekly charts.

This has proven to be astronomical since Lopez’s movie managed to push Sandra Bullock’s 2019 flick, The Unforgivable completely out of the list. Not only that, but The Mother also pushed Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, a movie that was nominated for various Academy Awards, off the weekly chart as well. The movie also had a massive 229.3 million hours viewed in just its first 28 days. The movie is getting achievement after achievement, making it an immediate blockbuster for the singer. There is no doubt that the movie will rise higher on the list as well.

Netflix’s Top Weekly Top 10 Sees The Mother Rise

The Mother has a premise interesting enough for it to attract a crowd. When it comes to action movies, Netflix always has a bigger audience for those. So it would not be a big shocker to see a movie with a big named actress like Jennifer Lopez, a director like Niki Caro, and an action thriller like The Mother finding itself on the top 10 weekly charts for a long time.

Currently, the top 10 chart holds Boss Baby at the first position with Missing in the second rank. The third and fourth ranks are taken by We’re The Millers and To Leslie respectively. The fifth rank is held by Dirty Grandpa followed by Lopez’s flick on number 6. The seventh and eighth ranks see The Choice and A Man Called Otto. On the final two ranks sit The Son and Blood & Gold.

The Mother and every other aforementioned movie are streaming on Netflix.
