Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam turned out to be a hit-and-miss for the actor as his return to the franchise seems doubtful. Although the movie had a semi-decent opening, it was not enough to amaze the fans. The DC Universe is releasing its final batch of movies before the first chapter kicks off an entirely new era for the franchise.
These movies include The Flash, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The trailers for the first two movies have already made fans interpret how well they might do. While Ezra Miller’s movie has got a lot of positive responses, Zachary Levi’s film’s predicted domestic opening may put it even behind Black Adam.
Shazam! 2′s Predicted Domestic Opening Pushes It Behind Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam
The estimation of the predicted domestic opening weekend for Shazam! Fury of the Gods happens to be only $52 Million. The movie has a similar prediction to that of its predecessor. Surprisingly enough, Black Adam made more than this prediction and could possibly jeopardize Zachary Levi‘s position in the DCU. The trailer already got some mixed responses with many getting excited about the movie and some people finding it underwhelming.
There is always a high possibility for the movie to make much more both domestically and globally than the predicted earnings. However, that would purely be based on how well the critics and the audience liked it early on. The movie is very important for Levi as it will determine his future in the franchise. Whether or not a story would continue for Shazam! would depend completely on the positive response the sequel could get. Furthermore, this would finalize even a future for Dwayne Johnson‘s Black Adam as the two are directly connected in the comics.
Fans Worry About Zachary Levi’s Future In The DCU
Fans are constantly wondering about how Shazam! Fury of the Gods will perform. The first movie received just as many mixed reviews as the sequel’s trailer did.
Honestly if it makes the same as Shazam 1 it's gonna be a real surprise, James Gunn really did everything in his power to doom this movie

Projections are projections for a reason. They always lowball it, the first Shazam had similar projections but did way better. I have no doubt this movie will beat black Adam and they don’t need a superman cameo

That’s about the same tracking as what the first Shazam was projected to open with so it could come in higher like the first one did if reviews are strong https://t.co/BtJegUGpGu

Some question that perhaps the merging of humor to a movie that is otherwise serious film. Confusion is being formed amongst them while the audience hopes that the movie turns into a successful sequel.
Black Adam is now streaming on Disney+ and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be available to watch on theatres from 17th March 2023.
