The MCU, despite slowing down its operations in recent times due to the negative reception and failure of its projects on the big and small screens, has not stopped entirely and is now pushing for more quality offerings instead of the sheer quantity that they were doing in the recent past.
Therefore, continuing their most successful and beloved IPs, they will be releasing the third season of their animated series What If…? in the future.
In fact, Marvel Studios has even pushed out a first look at what the upcoming season of the show will hold for the fans. And with those important pieces of stills and information, fans are anticipating yet another successful season ahead.
But along with that, new reports suggest that in season 3, we might also get a glimpse at the X-Men for the first time, which will further be elevated when Storm gets a hold of Thor’s Mjolnir and wield it.
Storm Will Be The Third MCU Character To Hold Mjolnir In What If…? Season 3
It’s been well-known in the MCU that only the worthy and the deserving get to hold Mjolnir, the Asgardian weapon wielded by the God of Thunder Thor, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the franchise. During the progression of the larger narrative, we have seen worthy wielders of the Hammer, like Chir Evans‘ Captain America in Avengers: Endgame and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, while Thor’s sister Hela did so with a complete and utter display of power.
And now, it seems like another character from the pages of Marvel Comics will hold the weapon in their hands in the future with the release of What If…? Season 3.
In a recent report by X user @CanWeGetToast, They claimed that in the coming season of the hit Disney+ animated series, we will be able to witness Storm, a member of the X-Men from Marvel Comics, hold Mjolnir in her hand and use its powers to its limits.
Storm will reportedly appear in ‘WHAT IF…?’ Season 3 and will be wielding Mjolnir.

While there may not be much information other than this at the moment, this does confirm that the X-Men will soon be seen seeping into the wider structure of the MCU in the future and mingling with other beloved superheroes from the franchise.
What More To Expect From What If…? Season 3?
While the aforementioned information might be treated as a rumor, Marvel Studios has officially revealed a first look at what to expect from the upcoming What If…? Season 3.
With the four stills released by the cinematic juggernaut so far, we have seen that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be making their return to the franchise after more than two years as Captain America and The Winter Soldier respectively.
Along with that, we will also see David Harbour as The Red Guardian working with Bucky Barnes on a mission while Monica Rambeau, played by actress Teyonah Parris will be seen alongside Wilson and Barnes in the upcoming season.
