Hollywood socialite and reality star Kim Kardashian is taking her acting career to the next level after sealing a deal with Amazon MGM Studios where she will star in and produce. The untitled thriller project will be penned by Natalie Krinsky, who is known for Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy.
Amazon was one of the studios bidding for the project, and in the middle of the discussion, sources claimed it could have a theatrical release. As of the moment, nothing is final since the picture is still in its early development.
Kim Kardashian Steps Up Again For Another Acting Stint
As confirmed by Deadline, the upcoming thriller starring Kim Kardashian is helmed specifically for the reality star. This is her second biggest project since Netflix’s The Fifth Wheel. Apart from her own Hulu show, The Kardashians, she also made her debut in FX’s American Horror Story: Delicate.
Kardashian is already building her acting portfolio and making her way to becoming an in-demand movie actress. When asked by Variety about jumping into the world of acting, she stated:
“It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I’m so excited for the experience. It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself.”
The beauty mogul showed extreme enthusiasm for the project after the outlet confirmed she was very hands-on in the process. Kardashian has been reportedly attending every pitch meeting with the producers and writer Natalie Krinsky. The latter previously released her directorial debut with Sony Pictures’ The Broken Hearts Gallery.
Because of her social media power, Kardashian is expected to have a hand in the marketing of her upcoming project. The actress has received praise for her work on American Horror Story, with Ryan Murphy stating via THR:
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”
She was labeled by Murphy as a “true force in the culture” after having been impressed by Kardashian’s 2021 Saturday Night Live hosting gig.
Kim Kardashian Wants To Star In A Marvel Movie
Anything is possible in Hollywood, and with a powerful figure like Kim Kardashian, it’s only a matter of time before she could join massive movie franchises like Marvel Cinematic Universe. She has previously shown interest in joining the superhero world via Interview Magazine:
“Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie, that would be so fun to do. I’m not actively looking, but I think things just come when they’re supposed to.”
With her expanding filmography, Kardashian might finally add another job to her lengthy career in the entertainment industry. If her upcoming project proves to be a success, studios would definitely want to work with her again.
