Similar circumstances apply to other stars from the previous DCEU, including Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Ezra Miller as Flash.

Nevertheless, Momoa’s situation appears to diverge, as there have been reports of discussions between him and Gunn’s team regarding his potential portrayal of the renowned DC antihero Lobo in an upcoming venture. Speculations suggested that he might assume this role as soon as 2025, with a projected appearance in “Superman: Legacy,” which cast its first two principal actors, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, back in June.

Will We See More Of Jason Momoa In The DCU

Clearly committed to making a DC comeback, Jason Momoa hinted at conversations with James Gunn and Peter Safran about a project that he referred to as his “dream project,” affirming his enthusiasm for the franchise. Momoa has alluded to his ongoing involvement with the DCU in a veiled manner, openly expressing similar sentiments in various public appearances, thereby strongly suggesting his inevitable return to the franchise.

Presently, Superman: Legacy is on hold, awaiting the conclusion of the actor’s strike before commencing production. Furthermore, Gunn is actively engaged in the casting process for significant roles beyond Lobo within the film. Safran has already suggested that Momoa’s future lies within the realm of the new DC banner, leading many fans to believe that it’s just a matter of time before his new role is confirmed.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will present Arthur Curry with an even greater challenge, with the formidable Black Manta returning stronger than ever, empowered by the legendary Black Trident.

Despite possessing the Trident of Atlan, the movie’s logline hints that Arthur must take drastic measures to thwart Black Manta’s destructive ambitions and protect all that is dear to him. It appears that Momoa faced his own challenges on set, sustaining an injury during the filming of Aquaman 2.

The release date for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled for December 20 in theaters.
