Netflix on potential split seasons for The Witcher 3

The split of the season amid the middle of a show isn’t something we haven’t perceived before, with the releases of shows like Bojack horseman season 6 and stranger things season 4 into two parts. Following the above course, the inclination of The Witcher, one of Netflix’s front runners into split seasons isn’t out of the surface. With covid hitting production and the VFX process, it seems plausible they are prone towards a 2 part release so the artists get the abundant time under their belt to flesh out the best final product. The creator of the show Lauren Schmidt Hissrich spread some light on the issue by marking a probable 8 more months into post-production before the release, while also alluring the possibility of 2 part season by stating,

We haven’t discussed that [splitting the season] yet, but at this point, I think what we see happening across all sorts of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out. I do think that we don’t put anything out that we’re not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date. And I think it’ll be interesting. Again, we have a way still a very long time, eight-ish months or so until Witcher Season 3 comes out. So God willing, we get it all out at the same time. But who knows, we’ll see what happens.

Netflix to extend Henry Cavill’s farewell as Geralt by possible two-part release

To state that the departure of Henry Cavill from the show has left fans disappointed would be an understatement considering the heavy impact Cavill has laid through his appearance in the 2 seasons of the show. Considering his love and passion for the project, it’s understandable why he wouldn’t wanna continue with the role as the writers of the show didn’t respect the source material, and being an avid appreciator of the books, it did impact the actor’s notion of not returning, and with his outing from DC as Superman, fans are enraged with Netflix’s decision to recast Geralt, which implies with the bombing of the recent spinoff The Witcher: Blood Origin and a possible lead to a decline in viewership in the future seasons without Henry Cavill.
