The superhero was previously seen in projects like Legends of Tomorrow and Smallville. However, Booster Gold aka Michael Jon Carter will now finally be a part of the DC Universe. Since James Gunn and Peter Safran have only revealed what the projects are going to be and haven’t given any updates about the casting, fan casts have found their way to Twitter. It looks like actor Chace Crawford has made his place in the hearts of the fans as a majority seems to agree that he would be perfect for the role.

A lot of times fans aren’t too pleased with the casting of a project. This leads to them fan casting the actors they believe would be perfect for the role. More often than not, fans often find themselves in a bit of a debate since there is no possible way to agree on one name.

However, as soon as the Booster Gold series was announced for HBO Max, fans had a name in mind – Chace Crawford. While Crawford has a bunch of roles to his name, including Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl, he is currently popular for playing the character of the most annoying Supe in The Boys, The Deep. Booster Gold begins his story as a superhero who only wanted to be worshipped and only cared about showing off. He is later hit by a realization that causes a change in his heart.

Now, Crawford definitely did a great job of irritating the viewers through his performance as The Deep. He was so convincing at playing the annoying Supe that we had to at times remind ourselves that he was just playing a character. Thus, fans choosing Crawford as their Booster Gold makes much more sense if you have watched The Boys. Fans took to Twitter to rally for the actor getting cast as Michael Carter stating that he would do a great job playing the character pathetically yet seriously, just as the role demands.

We haven’t seen The Deep’s redemption arc just yet as Crawford continues the character’s annoying streak. However, we cannot disagree that fans might be on to something here. Since it’s finally the time for Booster Gold to truly shine, the casting has to be just right. We hope James Gunn and Peter Safran choose the right person for it! Do you think they should slide into Crawford’s DMs?

Moving from one announcement to the next, Gunn and Safran finally reached the topic of the Booster Gold series. Safran started off the announcement by calling it a “total fan favorite” and described the superhero as, “A loser from the future who uses his basic future technology to come back to today and pretend to be a superhero.”

Gunn elaborated on what the series is going to be like explaining that the series will tell the story of Booster Gold in a more complex way than before. He added that it will be a very different type of show.

I think of it basically, as the story of a superhero’s imposter syndrome. How did he deal with that? How does he try to use this future technology to be loved by people today? What is really at the base of that and it’s a character study, that’s going to be a very different type of show. We are talking to an actor about this right now. I think that’s going to happen.”

Woah! Gunn and Safran are already a step ahead of us as they already have an actor in mind to play the superhero. As fans wonder who it could be, who would you place your bets on?

Booster Gold will be released on HBO Max but a release date has not been decided yet.
