A celebrity among celebrities, Keanu Reeves just finished his role as John Wick in the John Wick franchise and it seems that the franchise will be put on hold for quite some time as reported by the director of the franchise, Chad Stahelski. Reeves has earned the respect of everyone out there with his talented on-screen acting and also with his deeds off-screen, which include donating 70% of his entire paycheck he received from his starring in The Matrix to cancer research in the USA.

And now it seems Keanu Reeves has shifted his focus from being an immortal bounty hunter to being an expert sorcerer and magician. His job as a magician is not that of a typical one showing mere card tricks or breathing fire from his mouth, it’s more like burning demons, telekinesis, necromancy, a master manipulator, and an expert detective among many others. Yes, Reeves will be reprising his role as John Constantine in the upcoming movie Constantine 2.

Constantine 2 Starring Keanu Reeves Is Officially in Works

From one John to another. It seems that Keanu Reeves has a longing for the name John and the characters that revolve around it like John Wick or John Constantine. The word John in Hebrew means “God is Gracious” which means that God favors all, shows kindness to all and offers everyone the same gifts. And just to be clear, the word Neo’s Latin meaning is “New or Gift”, and we don’t have to discuss how Neo is related to Keanu Reeves. Now is it just a mere coincidence or was everything pre-planned is a discussion of another time.

And now another project has been given the thumbs up and is officially at works as Keanu Reeves will reunite with director Francis Lawrence to reprise his role in the upcoming movie, Constantine 2. This movie will be one of the most expected and awaited movies though no release date has been revealed yet, it will definitely be a blockbuster.

Constantine Was a New Experience for the Fans

Constantine which had Keanu Reeves as its main protagonist saw a pretty good box-office review and a decent rating after its release and its box-office collection was pretty good for a new character being introduced in the world. The movie collected over $230 million at the box office after its release worldwide with a production cost of $100 million.

It was pretty costly for a movie, but now as a sequel is at work, it must have been a pretty good movie for the Studio to continue this string. Apart from the movie. Though DC has previously made a tv show to keep the character alive, which was also a banger, the sequel will be far more awaited by the fans.

Francis Lawrence, the director of Constantine expressed in an interview that he along with most of the cast members were eager to reprise their roles if a sequel was made and shared that next time around the script will be dark and scary.

“It’s interesting that over the years, Constantine seems like it’s become … like it has this sort of cult following, which has been great. It’s been embraced. It would be great to figure out a sequel, and if we did, and we’ve been trying to figure one out, it would be great to do the really dark, scary version.”

And with the confirmation of the sequel, it is only a matter of time till Lawrence keeps his word and amazes and simultaneously terrorizes the fans with his brilliant script work and pull out the real potential of Constantine along with that of Keanu Reeves.
