Keanu Reeves Wants To Bring Back Constantine

Released in 2005, Constantine was a supernatural action-thriller film based on the DC Comics character, John Constantine. Reeves played the titular character, a demon hunter who reluctantly teams up with a police detective to solve a series of supernatural crimes. Despite mixed reviews, the film was able to make its fan base including Reeves, who are jointly rooting for its most awaited sequel.

In an interview, The Matrix star shared that he too wants to reprise the fan-favorite character of John Constantine.

“We’re trying. I don’t know if it’s going to happen. I know I’m playing a different Constantine than the comic you know and I do get a bit of trouble for that. I know but then I would be great. I don’t know if I look good as a blonde but I appreciate that I do. Hopefully, I get to do it, but, I don’t know. Yeah, hopefully, we can play.”

Francis Lawrence On Constantine 2

Francis Lawrence, the director of the 2005 movie, Constantine, shared his views on the making of Constantine 2. Lawrence revealed that he has been pushing for the second installment of the superhero horror film ever since the first was released. The director of the film noted the difficulty in bringing back the series.

“It’s something that we’ve been talking about since we made Constantine because we all loved it. So we’ve been talking about it, talking about it, talking about it. All the DC [properties], because Vertigo is part of DC, that sort of like the control of those properties got complicated with Warner Bros. with DC, with JJ [Abrams]’s deal, you know, all those kinds of things.”
