In one of the most recent reports, it is stated that the duo have found another star that they are willing to place their faith in, who happens to be none other than Sean Gunn. The role for which the star is being chosen is Maxwell Lord, a character that was once played by Pedro Pascal in 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984.

The dynamic duo of James Gunn and Peter Safran is becoming the talk of the town day by day with the DCU coming out with their first project, titled Creature Commandos next year. Along with that, we also received confirmation that the production for the highly-anticipated Superman: Legacy will also start its production sometime next year as well.

And now, we have even more news to share with the world as it’s confirmed that Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn will be helming another role in the franchise as the face of Maxwell Lord.

In a recent report by Deadline, it was confirmed that The Suicide Squad director, along with his fellow CEO had scouted his brother for the role of the aforementioned character. We first saw Maxwell Lord played by Pedro Pascal in the DCEU film Wonder Woman 1984. And now, as the new franchise has decided to rebuild everything from scratch, they have replaced the star with Sean Gunn.

This won’t be the first time that the Gunn brothers will be working together, as we have seen them collaborating on several projects, even in the MCU, where Sean Gunn played the role of Kraglin in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and most recently, in the role of Weasel in his brother’s DCEU film The Suicide Squad. 

It’s still unclear when we will see the star in action as the character, but it’s rumored that Lord may be mentioned in the upcoming Superman: Legacy
