Margot Robbie is one of the most beloved and talented actresses in Hollywood. She has been part of massive projects where she has played some of the most memorable and iconic characters, The Wolf of Wall Street, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, I, Tonya, Mary Queen of Scots, as well as her work in the DC Universe as Harley Quinn being some examples. The actress has also been nominated twice for an Acadamy Award.
However, her upcoming movie, Barbie, is possibly one of her most iconic ones of the bunch. The hype surrounding this film is certainly like no other and the press tour that Robbie is going on, alongside her co-star Ryan Gosling, is only adding to the anticipation felt by fans. The movie showcases many different versions of the memorable toy played by extremely famous actors.
Gal Gadot Is The Perfect Barbie In Margot Robbie’s Eyes
Having so many famous actors in Margot Robbie’s upcoming Barbie movie, it is quite interesting to find out that Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot was also supposed to be one of them. Robbie has revealed in multiple interviews that both she and the director of the film, Greta Gerwig, wanted Gadot to be part of this project.
“She was like, ‘All I get asked about is Barbie and I’m not even in Barbie.’ and I was like, ‘you’re our dream Barbie.’” She said, “She was our bromide for Barbie energy. Whenever we’d be like ‘What’s a Barbie like?’. Both Greta and I have had experiences where we’ve met Gal at events before we’ve known. Within two minutes makes you feel like you’re her best friend and you feel so loved and valued and also like she’s so pretty and just so nice. So we were always like, ‘I think Gal is Barbie’, someone you meet for two seconds and you’re like ‘ You’re so nice and I love you’.”
Robbie mentioned that both of them had met the actress at events and immediately thought that she was a real-life Barbie. She elaborated by saying that Gadot has the tendency of making someone feel loved and valued within the first meeting with her, a trait that Robbie and Gerwig imagine Barbie to have. They even went as far as to use the actress as the standard for ‘Barbie energy’.
Gal Gadot Only Gets Asked About Barbie
Unfortunately, however, Gal Gadot was unable to be part of Margot Robbie’s Barbie as while the movie was in production, the Wonder Woman actress was busy with her upcoming movie, Disney’s Snow White. This did not stop the public from bombarding Gadot with questions about the movie.
“Margot, I love you. I’ll do anything with you,” she went on, “Ill do anything with you”
The actress said in an interview with Robbie that all she is asked about by everyone she talks to is the Barbie movie. She did however say that she would love to be part of a Barbie sequel if there ever was one, adding that she would do anything for Robbie.
Barbie will be in theaters on the 21st of July 2023.
