While Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 was stalled in post-production due to the recently concluded Actors Strike, this obstacle did not stop it from holding its position as one of the most anticipated films in Hollywood. Apart from the excitement of seeing Reynolds play the foul-mouthed and politically incorrect anti-hero, the film will also see Hugh Jackman reprise his famous role as Wolverine in the film.
But this double whammy isn’t the only X-factor in Deadpool 3. Following the news that one of X-Men’s famous villains Sabretooth will return to challenge Reynolds and Jackman in the film, new information coming in also indicates the presence of another antagonist from the original film, Toad.
Will X-Men’s Toad Play A Part In Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3?
The hype surrounding Deadpool 3 is increasing day by day. First, fans were ecstatic about the reunion of two of their favorite stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who will join forces as Deadpool and Wolverine. In addition, images from the set that showed the two actors fighting formidable X-Men villain Sabretooth has made fans even more excited.
Now, more pictures from the Deadpool 3 set indicate another villain from the first X-Men movie, Toad. According to sources, the character was seen filming a car crash sequence with Reynolds along with a stunt double. It is still unclear if Ray Park who played Toad in 2000’s X-Men, will reprise his role here.
Did Ryan Reynolds Hint At A Possible Dogpool Introduction?
There’s never a dull moment when Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool 3 are making the headlines. Apart from the film being one of the most awaited releases, the presence of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and the distinct possibility of X-Men villains Sabretooth and Toad being in the mix, has added even more hype. Now, Reynolds has created a further buzz by dangling a carrot in front of fans regarding the presence of his character’s variant, Dogpool.
Just like the Disney+ series Loki, which introduced different alternate-reality variants of the God of Mischief including an alligator Loki, Marvel Comics had a version of Deadpool who journeyed to a parallel reality in which scientists conducted Weapon X-level experiments on a dog named Wilson, transforming him into Dogpool. In a post on his X handle, Reynolds unloaded a picture of an unnamed canine as Dogpool with the caption,
”Did Dogpool save the day? Not a chance in gremlin hell. But she IS currently causing the Disney plushy merch department nightmares. Coming with the movie, Summer 2024”
With Deadpool 3 well and truly back to production following the resolution of the Actors Strike, fans will be eagerly waiting to see what updates Reynolds and the makers of Deadpool 3 share next.
