Possibly one of the biggest heartbreaks in the superhero genre, Henry Cavill had to say goodbye to the role of Superman. Since this removal happened under the new leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the two have been under constant criticism since the day of the deed.

Among Henry Cavill’s removal and other confusions going around at the Studios, fans have yet another hit to take. Doom Patrol and Titans are getting canceled after their fourth seasons. The two shows are fairly well-received and had gained quite an audience over the years of their run. As we would have expected, fans on Twitter had a lot to say about the cancellation and of course, James Gunn found himself at the center of backlash once again. However this time, the guy cleared the air around his name.

Doom Patrol and Titans debuted on DC Universe and finally found their permanent homes in HBO Max after two seasons. Both of them successfully ran for 2 more seasons before it was time to say goodbye to them. Currently, in their fourth season, the upcoming second halves of each of them will be the last we see of the two shows.

James Gunn has become synonymous with controversy ever since he joined the DC Studios. While initially, fans were all for the idea of Gunn and Peter Safran ruling the studios, a majority of them are taking back their words now. Supporting the fact that criticism of Gunn won’t be ending anytime soon, some fans took to Twitter to blast Gunn. A Twitter user stated that Doom Patrol and Titans will be ending due to Gunn and Safran’s direction. Although, we know that’s not the case.

Gunn isn’t one to entertain the spread of false information on the Internet. Therefore, he quickly shut down the rumor that he and his business partner had anything to do with the cancelations. Replying to the above-mentioned user, Gunn cleared the air stating that the decision to cancel the two shows was made way before he and Safran joined the Studios. After erasing any doubt fans might have had, Gunn then wished the talented team of the two shows the best.

It looks like the new vision the Gunn-Safran duo has for the DCU is proving to put them in the front and center when anything goes wrong. As for what’s coming for the superhero universe, Gunn has been persistent on the fact that fans will know a part of the slate in January. However, the month is almost at the end and there are no updates so far. Maybe the thirty-first?
