After Superman Exit, Henry Cavill Likely Making Triumphant DC Return as New DCU Superhero: "We’ve discussed other roles with Henry"

Henry Cavill has been the center of attention in the industry for quite a while now. He became a top-listed celebrity due to his famous role in The Witcher, and in the DCEU as Superman. But currently, after his exit from both franchises, just when Cavill started forming his own franchise, news has been coming that DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has renegotiated with Cavill for a new DCU role after ousting him from the franchise as the Man of Steel.

Henry Cavill’s Conversations With the DCU Executives

James Gunn has taken over DC Studios and is currently overseeing everything alongside Peter Safran, and with their latest update for the franchise – DCU will be entering a new era formed by the two, titled “Gods and Monsters”. They also revealed all the upcoming projects they will be working on for Chapter 1 and the introduction of many new characters are on the way.

James Gunn has always been a Twitter person and is quite active on the platform. So he frequently replies to many tweets out there, and in one such reply, Gunn said that they have had conversations with Henry Cavill about giving him a new role in the new DC. Though Cavill’s take on the matter has not been revealed yet, it is only a matter of time before some official announcement is made if their deal follows through.

James Gunn openly discussed that,

“It’s on various news sites & I was asked about it. You might consider that this bile you think comes off in my post has more to do with your framing than what I’m actually saying. I’ve said in the past we’ve discussed other roles with Henry – just Frankenstein is not one of them”

Though Henry Cavill might not get to play a super famous character in the new DCU, taking into account Cavill’s fame in the industry, it will only be a matter of time before he turns a character into an international sensation. If only Cavill could go aboard the ship Gunn and Safran are forming, plenty of interesting roles will open up for Cavill, who has been a pillar for the DC universe with his role as the Man of Steel.

Superman Actor’s Time After His Exit From the DC Universe

Henry Cavill exited from The Witcher franchise due to the variety of changes they brought in the script, deviating from the original novel by Andrzej Sapkowski. Cavill will still be starring as Geralt of Rivia for 3 seasons, which will be released this summer. Some say Cavill’s primary reason for his exit from the franchise was because he wanted to focus more on the Superman role after the cameo in Black Adam, which drastically failed.

But after getting greeted by every obstacle one can have, Cavill has not deviated from his passion for acting and formed up his own franchise of Warhammer 40,000 – which will be an adaptation of the game to a series. This time around, Cavill is backed by Amazon Studios and partnered up with Vertigo Entertainment as he bought the rights for the game over other companies, Cavill will be acting as an executive producer for the show as well as portraying a very important character in the adaptation.

Currently, as it seems, James Gunn and Peter Safran are open to having Henry Cavill among their ranks for their new DCU, it would be a waste if Cavill does not intend to return to the franchise as most of his fans, as well as the DC fans, are eagerly waiting for an official reply from either side. Though it might be a major question if the Man of Steel actor will be kept in the main timeline or in Chapter 1, which might seem possible even if discussions were followed through by both parties. Only time can tell what they have in store for themselves.
