One of Dragon Ball Z’s most enjoyable dynamics is the friendly rivalry that occurs between Goku and Vegeta as they continue to become stronger and match each other’s achievements. Goku, the protagonist and a pure-hearted Saiyan, is well-known for his huge appetite and tireless pursuit of martial arts proficiency. Vegeta, on the other hand, is a Saiyan prince with a prideful and competitive temperament who was initially a fierce opponent. Because Goku is the protagonist of Dragon Ball, he usually discovers a lot of abilities before Vegeta, and there is a widespread belief that Goku is the superior character. But this has now changed.
Vegeta has finally proved his strength and has managed to become the strongest character in the Dragon Ball series dethroning Goku. And this is all possible because of his new power.
The Real Strength of Vegeta’s Ultra Ego
In Dragon Ball Super chapter 73, Goku walks up to face Granolah but quickly realizes that even in extreme instinct form, he is outclassed. This leaves only Vegeta to fight Granolah, and things take a turn for the worse from there. While Granolah is meant to be the strongest warrior in the universe at this time, Vegeta’s talent and experience allow him to fight back even when he is at a disadvantage. When things get rough, Vegeta uses a new power called Ultra Ego. This power is driven by his love of battle and his ego. Vegeta begins ruling Granolah with Ultra Ego. Interestingly, when Vegeta absorbs strikes from Granolah, he gets stronger over time, unlike Goku’s Ultra Instinct, which weakens with time.
Vegeta’s Ultra Ego is seen to easily surpass Goku’s Ultra Instinct during the fight and can take down stronger characters like Granolah.
Ultra Ego vs. Ultra Instinct
Ultra Instinct is a supreme method that disconnects the consciousness from the body, allowing it to move and fight independently of the martial artist’s thoughts and emotions. It is a tremendously tough technique to perfect. This method presents itself specifically as a transformation in Son Gok and is his most powerful form, surpassing Super Saiyan Blue. Ultra Ego, on the other hand, is a highly sophisticated warfare technique predominantly used by Gods of Destruction. When using the Ultra Ego transformation, the user becomes considerably stronger than before and gains the ability to fully utilize the Power of Destruction.
Comparing both abilities and their uses, in terms of pure strength, Ulta Ego easily surpasses Ulta Instinct and can be deemed stronger which ultimately makes Vegeta stronger than Goku in the grand scheme of the story.
