AI Art Shows It’d be 100X Better if Severus Snape Raised Harry Potter

Harry Potter is one of the biggest franchises of all time. Over the course of eight films, the series managed to create such an immersive world, that it became an entity of its own, independent of the actors and the writer. Having Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, as the three main protagonists meant that fans almost grew up with their three characters. The story follows the titular boy wizard throughout his life, as he goes from being an abused child to becoming the greatest wizard of all time.

One of the biggest aspects of his character is the fact that he was forced to grow up in his aunt and uncle’s home, with a lack of affection, due to the untimely death of his parents. Knowing the franchise, and all of the times that Potter almost escaped this reality, many have speculated what it would be like if he were to grow up with someone like Severus Snape as his father instead. A recent artificially generated art piece shows a visual representation of how such an arrangement could have looked like.

Harry Potter Could Have Grown Up Completely Differently

Severus Snape is a very important part of the Harry Potter universe. Starting as a scary teacher that nobody liked, Snape was expected to emerge as the antagonist in the initial films. However, as the story progressed, fans learned that behind the cold, harsh exterior was a compassionate and caring man who was the opposite of evil.

Towards the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry learns that Snape and his mother, Lily, have a history. On top of learning that his father used to believe the professor when he was younger, he also learned that Snape had been in love with his mother ever since they were in Hogwarts. Furthermore, Snape also was the person who discovered a young Potter when Voldemort killed his parents.

For many fans, this felt like a story that needed a better conclusion. They wanted to see Snape get a happy ending and wondered how things would have panned out had there been no bad blood between him and Harry Potter. This has caused many to create stories on their own. While some write fanfiction, one turned to AI.

What Would This Look Like?

One Harry Potter fan put up a post on Instagram that showcased art made by AI about what life would have been like had Snape raised Harry Potter. The post on its own, is quite emotional for fans, looking at what could have happened if things had been different. For starters, Harry would not have been as traumatized as he was because of the Dursleys, and would gave instead grown up in a kind and nurturing environment.

He would have also perhaps not been a part of Griffindor, having probably been selected in Slytherin instead. It could also have been possible that Harry and Draco Malfoy would have been childhood friends. This would mean that they also vote together in Hogwarts. That, while heartwarming, would have meant that the Golden Trio of Potter, Hermione, and Ron would have never existed. The possibility of that happening means that most fans will prefer the actual story, instead of the alternate one.
