Alec Baldwin has been an accomplished Hollywood star almost to the level of Harrison Ford. Both the actors have created their own legacy over decades appearing in several hits. But Baldwin appears to despise Ford when he added some bold comments about the Indiana Jones actor.

Several reports indicate that Baldwin has a record of lashing from time to time. In 2011, the actor was removed from an American Airlines flight after allegedly refusing to maintain decorum while he was playing a game on his phone and calling fellow passengers rude names. So, it is not really surprising to see his hot-headedness towards Ford.

Alec Baldwin Was Softly Replaced By Harrison Ford

To his credit, Alec Baldwin originated the role of Jack Ryan in the $910 million franchise. Several actors have played the character after his departure from the sequel of the original movie, The Hunt for Red October. Baldwin was very fond of the role but Harrison Ford replaced the Pearl Harbor actor in the sequel, Patriot Games

Baldwin wanted to reprise the role and he was also in talks but suddenly it all changed. As he stated in his blog in Huffington Post, Hunt for Red October director John McTiernan called the actor when he was traveling to Syracuse to visit his mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

“On the phone, John [McTiernan] told me that during the period of the previous few months, he had been negotiating to do a film with a very famous movie star who had dropped out of his film days before so that he could go star in the sequels to The Hunt For Red October. John further told me that Paramount owed the actor a large sum of money for a greenlit film that fell apart prior to this, and pushing me aside would help to alleviate that debt and put someone with much greater strength at the box office than mine in the role,” Baldwin wrote.

At the time, Baldwin didn’t reveal the name of the actor but it was an obvious guess that he was talking about Ford.

Baldwin did not shy away from lashing into the studio and the next Jack Ryan actor. In his book Nevertheless, the actor revealed that he was in the middle of negotiation for the role in the next movie of the franchise but, as Baldwin claimed, Ford was also interested in playing the action hero. According to some other reports, the It’s Complicated actor further claimed that McTiernan asked Ford about how he feels taking over the role from Baldwin, Ford replied, “F*ck him.”

Later, Baldwin had some bold remarks on the Indiana Jones actor calling Ford “a little man, short, scrawny, and wiry, whose soft voice sounds as if it’s coming from behind a door.” As of yet, Ford never commented on Baldwin’s claim.

Further, the actor also accused Paramount’s David Kirkpatrick, “Kirkpatrick was a beady-eyed, untalented tool who had seemed like he was up to something throughout my sequel negotiation,” he said.

Later, Kirkpatrick responded to the It’s Complicated actor’s blog saying that the end of the relationship between the actor and the studio was because of the issue of trust.

“Alec Baldwin withdrew from the project, Patriot Games, over an issue of script approval: I wanted him to approve a script and he refused,” the executive said.

The full picture of the actor and the studio’s relationship over the Jack Ryan franchise is still foggy as the opinion of both parties resonates only with their own justification. However, it is obvious that Baldwin was pretty upset when he had to let go of Jack Ryan forever.
