Alien: Romulus looks all set to bring the ‘Aliens’ into motion
The cast, starring Cailee Spaeny, David Johnson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, has the daunting task of living up to the expectations of the fans of the franchise. Set to take place between the events of Alien and Aliens, Alien: Romulus is going to depict a new group’s tryst with the xenomorphs aboard the space station Renaissance.
Director Fede Álvarez, who has proved his pedigree by helming the likes of Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, knew he had a big task at his hands. And he was more than excited to immortalize his name in the annals of the franchise, trying to add complexities to the character dynamics, which would add a distinct element to the Alien franchise.
Alien: Romulus might breach a stellar box office record on its opening weekend
If Alien: Romulus’s opening is anything to go by, director Fede Álvarez might be right after all. The movie looks all set to make a whopping $100 million on its opening weekend. The figures would be a serious upgrade on the Box Office performance of Alien: Covenant, which would only make $240 million on a budget of $97 million.

Breaking even a large-scale project of this ilk over the opening weekend is a serious achievement. And credit must be given to Director Fede Álvarez, and the young lot who are spearheading the movie. The concomitant result of their efforts has led to fans going gung-ho over the movie.

Everyone who has caught a glimpse of the movie knows what a stroke of genius it is. Some fans have even gone on to label the movie “a massive success”. The reason?

What makes Alien: Romulus a huge success is not only how it brings the franchise back to life, but also how it leaves the road ahead open. The movie finally brings back what made Aliens the success it was – a hell lot of horror. And its real magic lies in the fact that it has managed to stoke the fans’ interest, getting hooked on the possibility of a possible sequel.
Movie was a nice return to form for the franchise, the numbers are well deserved. Hope this means a sequel, because I’m certainly invested in what happens next.

Hopefully it hits over 400-500 million, if not more for it’s theatrical run and gets a sequel.
