Top Gun: Maverick became one of Tom Cruise’s most successful movies and had been breaking the box office as if the post-COVID impact on theatres had been nothing. The movie was released decades after its predecessor and the sense of nostalgia yet still managing to connect with a newer and younger audience was what made the film so successful.
To see Tom Cruise play the character he last saw in 1986 and make the sequel to be his most successful movie, it is as if the actor has done a full circle. The addition of Paramount+ to the array of streaming services has given the audience another platform to view the movie on. The movie sees an entirely new set of pilots who need to be trained for an intricately dangerous mission that falls under the Top Gun program. Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell gets assigned to train these individuals and there he not only faces his past but learns to move on from it. The movie saw audiences both young and old. Those who went to watch it for nostalgia as well as those who wanted to experience something new, all found a place for themselves in the movie. A sequel after decades is a risk but if taken correctly, can lead to a brilliant movie like Top Gun: Maverick.

Top Gun: Maverick’s success in theatres and on Paramount+ has made the fans ecstatic. The movie received a lot of support when it was first got released and it has since then been gaining more and more love and support from the fans.

Upon hearing the news of its success on the streaming service, the audience backs the movie up for being the best film available on the platform. Not only that, but they put the sequel on a much higher pedestal than any other movie on Paramount+.
