According to reports, streaming giants Netflix and Amazon are bidding over this project to acquire its rights and are ready to pay a whopping amount in exchange for the deal.

Written by acclaimed author Don Winslow, the fascinating novella chronicles the tale of a detective named Lou Lubesnick looking for a jewel thief near the Pacific Coast Highway. Crime 101 is said to be similar to award-winning director Michael Mann-directed 1995 crime thriller Heat, led by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. The outlet noted that the potential deal could go up to $100M, and sources claimed that both the stars had shown interest in the project before the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Don Winslow’s novella Crime 101 has been compared and said to be similar to Al Pacino’s 1995 thriller Heat. The Thor movie star and The Mandalorian star are no strangers to playing challenging roles, and they will do a phenomenal job if they star together in this intriguing upcoming movie.

Streaming Giants Are Bidding on Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal’s Movie

As no further details related to the project are available, the outlet noted that streaming giants Netflix and Amazon are heavily bidding to acquire the rights to Crime 101 movie.

The platforms are willing to spend a whopping amount as part of the potential deal, and as per the site, “Amazon appears to have the edge.” The official synopsis of the Crime 101 novella reads:

“A string of high-level jewel heists up and down the Pacific Coast Highway has gone unsolved for years, mostly because the perpetrator has lived by a strict code he calls Crime 101. Now the lone-wolf jewel thief is looking for that fabled final last score, and Lou breaks all the rules of Crime 101.”

While it has not been confirmed yet whether Hemsworth and Pascal will unite on this ultimate crime thriller film. Netflix and Amazon, on the other hand, are at war over the project and may spend up to $100 million as they bid to get the rights to this movie.
