What’s significant about the launch date is that it marks the 26th anniversary of ‘Fallout Day’ from the game franchise and fans should have 12 April 2024 marked in their calendar as soon as possible. The post-apocalyptic adaptation is certainly making a statement by having the relatable date and no doubt fans will love the link to this already.

What do we know about the Fallout TV show?

Fans will no doubt be wondering what direction the Fallout TV show will take.

The Fallout TV show has been in development since 2020 and unfortunately, any notable details regarding a storyline are firmly under lock and key. However, the teaser posted on the official X page (formerly Twitter) gives fans what they have long waited for, a confirmed release date, and it is only 6 months away.

Looking at the Fallout TV show entry on IMDb there appear to be 8 episodes set aside for the first series, with the pilot episode titled simply – S1.E1 ∙ The End. At the time of writing, however, there were no other titles attached to the other episodes in the series.

Whilst we may not know much about the direction the series will take, we do know about the casting of the series and there are some notable names which you may recognise. Walton Goggins of Sons of Anarchy and Hateful Eight fame joins Twin Peaks‘ Kyle McLachlan and Yellowjackets‘ Ella Purnell, to name but a few.

The Fallout TV show did have a reveal trailer at the recent Gamescom in Germany, however, this was not revealed to the general public. Instead, Todd Howard gave fans a sneak peek of the Fallout adaptation during a presentation for Bethesda’s Starfield.

Walton Goggins is just one of the notable cast attached to the upcoming series.

As can be expected, there was a buzz on social media with the confirmed release date for the series and fans were not slow in voicing their excitement, however, some offered a more cautious approach;

“please don’t let what happened to halo happen to this fallout. I cant take another one of my favorite game franchises being turned to garbage” – @minister_miller

“My favorite games series get a tv show adaptation AND it comes out on my birthday ? Hell yeah” – @MYRD97

“Omg I’m super hyped for this show! Let’s go!!” – @The_Stebe

In addition to these comments, several comments were asking about a Fallout remaster and whether we could see this alongside the series. It would certainly make sense in a financial sense to cash in the hype for the TV adaptation by having a remaster released at the same time, so we’ll see what Bethesda comes up with.

We can understand the trepidation of fans who do not want the series to fail given the mixed reaction that was given to the Halo series. This is a popular franchise and loyal fans do not want to be disappointed when they finally get to see it in a live action format. No doubt many will be hoping it will be adapted as well as The Last of Us was.

Whilst we may not have any details of what to expect in terms of a storyline for the Fallout TV show, it is really exciting to see if finally comes to fruition. Given how well some video games have been adapted as TV shows as of late, it gives fans a lot to look forward to and we can only hope that Amazon Prime does it justice.
