Will Henry Cavill Be Able To Portray The Role of James Bond?

Spoilers for a 2-year-old movie but Daniel Craig’s character of James Bond dies at the end of No Time to Die. The bold move was hailed as one of the finest endings of a movie and was a proper way for Daniel Craig to say goodbye to the franchise of James Bond.

After his departure, fans turned their eyes to Henry Cavill to take on the role of the British MI6 agent. Being an ideal fit for the character of James Bond, the fans wait desperately for any updates on Henry Cavill’s role in the upcoming James Bond movies but nothing confirmed has yet come to pass.

In an interview, Christoph Waltz talked about the ending of the 2021 movie. According to him, the ending was so perfect that they could continue the saga of James Bond without any resurrections or reboots for the franchise.

“That’s audacious, but it’s fabulous. It’s fabulous, because it’s definitely something no one expected. And it does not contradict the continuation of the saga. Daniel made this thing so much his own, and such a specific entity within the saga, that it’s ok if it continues. Even if Daniel’s [James Bond] had died.”

This could potentially mean that Henry Cavill might join the franchise as a protégé to the earlier James Bond and then take on the role of the master. This could also mean that Cavill might not be in the mix after all as the producers of the franchise Barbara Broccoli look for other actors to fill in the role.

Being 39 years of age, Henry Cavill has the perfect physique and is the proper age for the portrayal of James Bond. Before the rumors are all but confirmed, there was clearly tough competition between Henry Cavill and Idris Elba. The latter actor being of greater age was considered out of the race due to the amount of heavy stunts that he would have to do.

The only problem with Cavill is that he is currently busy bringing the world the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Being one of the main men behind the cinematic universe, Cavill is certainly stuck under a lot of work. Alongside the franchise, the Man of Steel actor is also engaged with other movies alongside notable directors in the future.

Henry Cavill is currently associated with the upcoming movie Argylle wherein a spy gets caught up in a conspiracy that entangles the whole world. The movie is currently in the post-production stage of development and is expected to release sometime in 2023
