When Angelina Jolie Had No Intention To Marry Brad Pitt

As one of the most famous (ex) couples in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s union received extensive media coverage. In a 2007 October Marie Claire issue, Jolie was candid about her struggles prior to marrying Pitt. She admitted:

“Brad and I have never discussed it [marriage] in detail, but I would assume – because we both went down that road before – that its not a contract or the ceremony that makes you feel solid.”

The actress, thus, was of the opinion that hard work and starting a family together, rather than getting married, solidified her relationship with Pitt.

‘It’s hard work and the exhaustion and the children that really make you solid.”

She first crossed paths with the Bad Santa actor while filming Pushing Tin. The couple often engaged in discussions about involvement in open displays of affection for each other, and their marriage in 2000 was one of the most widely covered news stories. They divorced in May 2003 after filing for divorce in 2002, so the union did not last very long.

Jolie once admitted that the “overnight” change in the course of events caught her off guard as well. As a result, she had no expectations when she first met Pitt during Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The Gia actress reportedly felt that she and the Fight Club actor were quite busy with their personal lives and were not looking for a serious relationship. However, as they worked together on the 2005 film, they started getting closer.

Thus, it is safe to say that love is not always easy but is always worth fighting for. Despite experiencing their fair share of ups and downs, Jolie and Pitt never wavered in their commitment to each other and their children.

She took a chance on love and chose to marry the man she knew was destined to be her lifelong partner, despite her fear of being hurt again. Their love story may not have had a happy ending, but it serves as a reminder that true love can endure hardship.
