Angelina Jolie Did Not Want a Relationship After Her Divorce
Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton met on the set of Pushing Tin. The couple was often in talks for publicly showing affection toward each other, and their marriage in 2000 was one of the most talked about topics in the media. However, the relationship did not last long, as they filed for divorce in 2002 and finalized it in May 2003.
Jolie shared that she was also surprised by the “overnight” change of events. So when she met the Hollywood star Brad Pitt for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, she did not expect their relationship to be anything more than co-stars.
The Gia star was reportedly not looking for a serious relationship as she felt that she and Pitt were pretty busy with their personal lives. During an interview, she said, “I didn’t know much about exactly where Brad was in his personal life.” However, as they worked together on the 2005 film, they started getting closer.
The Eternals star said, “Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things.” She shared that they developed a “strange friendship and partnership,” and soon, she started feeling excited about the thought of going to work and meeting the Bullet Train actor.
Angelina Jolie Broke a Promise She Made to Herself
Angelina Jolie claimed that after her separation from Billy Bob Thornton, she did not see herself getting into a romantic relationship with an actor or anyone in her line of work. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Jolie shared that after her last divorce, she was adamant about marrying someone in another field.
However, it all changed after she met Brad Pitt while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. “Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know?” the Maleficent star said.
Jolie shared that she did not see him as an actor but rather as an individual who loved traveling and architecture more than being a movie star. The 47-year-old actress shared that she appreciated her relationship with the Fight Club star as it was everything she was looking for in a partner and a relationship.
The highly publicized romance between the Hollywood actors was also short-lived after they got married in 2014. They filed for divorce only two years after their marriage in September 2016, and both were declared single in April 2019.
