Angelina Jolie is perhaps one of the few actors and actresses who is unafraid to pick up any stunt that is thrown before her. Whether is it a movie she has to film by herself, a project not many might look at, or stunts even professionals would reject, nothing stops the actress. She has done a lot of movies that require some heavy stunt work and many would rely on their stunt doubles to do so.
Despite having seen a lot of accidents throughout the industry, Jolie is one person who is ready to take up a challenge and risk everything for a stunt. While this may be a dangerous thing to take up, that hasn’t bothered the Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress yet.
Angelina Jolie Was Willing To Do A Stunt Even Though The Stunt Double Said No
Angelina Jolie has done a lot of stunts without the help of a stunt double. She may have a controversial reputation amongst her peers, but they all commend how great of an actress she is. The respect she has gained in her time since she started in the industry did not come so easily and Jolie worked hard to get it. One reason for this also happens to be how eager she is at doing her own stunts.
“Angelina was doing triple back flips on the set. She was doing the bungee jumps from 50 feet up in the air. She was laughing. The stunt doubles were clinging to their safety ropes. For one scene where Lara surfs through the air on a thin log, her stunt double refused to do it. Angie said ‘No problem’. Within a week, she was going, ‘I love it! Let’s go again!’”
One instance, in particular, had her only giving a two-word reply, while her stunt double refused to do a stunt on the set of Lara Croft. She simply said “No problem,” and took a week to master the stunt, wanting to do it again and again.
Angelina Jolie Is Not Afraid On Movie Sets
Angelina Jolie even confirmed that while she is filming a movie, her mind is in a completely different form, seeing her be more brave than usual and willing to take up tasks that could very easily risk her life. She added that there could be a possibility of her just being less afraid on sets.
“Either I don’t scare easy or when I’m working I’m in a different headspace.”
Jolie even focused on how being an actor allows you a privilege others might not get and she does not want to let go of that as easily. Stunt doubles may do what she is doing in a much better manner but what matters to her is the experience.
