Zeus’s Voice Actor Feared ‘Blood of Zeus‘ Season 2 Wouldn’t Match the Success of Its Predecessor
The Netflix adaptation stands out from the rest because of its deep dive into Greek mythology, presenting gods, demigods, and mythical creatures. The series introduces viewers to the protagonist, Heron, who later discovers his divine heritage as the son of Zeus. Heron’s journey of self-discovery and heroism adds more layers to his characters, captivating several fans who enjoy character-driven narratives.
Apart from the protagonist, the Blood of Zeus plays a huge importance to the rest of the characters such as Zeus, Hera, and the antagonist Seraphim. Moreover, the epic clash between the long-lost brothers, Heron and Seraphim, became one of the most iconic moments in the fandom.

Although many fans were highly anticipating the series’ return with Season 2, not many had the same optimistic views for its successful future. Besides all the viewers who were undermining season 2’s success, Heron’s voice actor also struggled with doubts and disappointing his audience solely because of one specific reason.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Jason O’Mara, who voiced Heron for Blood of Zeus, opens up about his struggle with insecurity for the prequel’s success.
Animation just takes so long. It’s so hard. It’s hard for us to because, we’ve been talking about season two for what seems like years. Just between getting the stories right, and the scripts, and then recording, and then sending it out to be animated frame-by-frame, scene-by-scene.
He further talks about the team’s efforts while animating the fan-favorite series and the splendid support they received from the fanbase.
We thought that fans wouldn’t remember, because especially teenagers, they grow up, and for years, but like, Wow, what a reception. Some of the reviews have been amazing. I think we were in the top 10 most watched show on Netflix globally, for a week. That was very cool. Very cool. And the fans did remember, and they’re so loyal.

The Blood of Zeus Season 2 initial response has been positive, and many fans claimed the prequel to be worth the wait. Why Seraphim is Portrayed as the Perfect Antagonist in Blood of Zeus
Seraphim, due to his complex and tragic backstory, made his villainous actions more understandable. Blood of Zeus‘s characters not only resonated deeply with the fandom but with the voice actors as well. Seraphim’s struggle for power and vengeance captivated not only viewers but also the voice actor, Elias Toufexis, himself.

Toufexis once highlighted the important role of any voice actor and how it helped him resonate with Seraphim‘s character. He reveals an actor’s job is to understand their character’s motivations and justify their actions, ignoring all their understanding of morality. Indeed, Blood of Zeus has captivated numerous fans because of its rich Greek mythology and the splendid design of its characters.
