Actors have set a benchmark for themselves for drawing audiences in theaters. The case was true for Anne Hathaway and Peaky Blinders actor Tom Hardy when they both starred in the 2012 movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Being directed by Christopher Nolan, the film saw Hathaway starring as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. Despite being there for roughly 19 minutes of the total screentime, she bagged a paycheck of $7.5 million. On the other hand, Tom Hardy, who portrayed the antagonist Bane in the movie only went home with $2.5 million.

When Anne Hathaway Earned $7.5 Million For 19 Minutes of Screen Time

Bane (literally meaning annoying) was portrayed by actor Tom Hardy back in 2012 in Nolan’s trilogy of The Dark Knight. Being the antagonist of the movie with a plan to blow up Gotham, it was obvious that the actor and the character will have plenty of screen time in the movie.

Well, according to reports, actor Tom Hardy was paid $2.5 million for his role in the movie for a screen time of approximately 22 minutes. Although the number does seem normal, it was Anne Hathaway who took the cake for her performance as Catwoman in the movie. Being an actress of stardom, the Love and Other Drugs actress was paid $7.5 million for her role with a screen time of only 19 minutes.

The Dark Knight Rises, being a Christopher Nolan movie, had a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes out of which Selina Kyle appeared for a mere 19 minutes. She did, however, went home with a whopping $7.5 million paycheck which is almost half the earnings of Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Rises. After starring in other blockbuster movies the actress went quiet for a bit. Anne Hathaway is, however, attached to a Robert Mitchell project that might see fans in high numbers once again going to the theatre screens.

In 2014, the world marveled at Robert Mitchell when he released his horror masterpiece It Follows. The fans are gearing up for another one of  Robert Mitchell’s movies but this time, starring Anne Hathaway.

According to reports, the Interstellar actress is all set to star in Robert Mitchell’s movie which is reportedly set in the 1980s. The movie will be shot using IMAX cameras and will also be based on a dinosaur theme. Not many details have been revealed regarding the project but fans wait ecstatically for Robert Mitchell and Anne Hathaway to join hands for the project.

The Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway starrer The Dark Knight Rises is available to stream on HBO Max in the U.S.
