Ever since Gunn took control of the DCU, people have been comparing the director to his movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Zack Snyder’s movies. Veteran director Matthew Vaughn revealed to ScreenRant that Gunn has an advantage over the MCU.

“I think at least DC is under… I think James Gunn and Safran, they’ve got a good chance of popping, and hopefully [Kevin] Feige will go back to less is more and make less films and concentrate on making them great.”

With Creature Commandos in the works and Gunn working on Superman: Legacy, it does seem that the DCU will fall in line with a coherent story at hand. The upcoming series is slated for a release date of 2024 as audiences and fans hold their breath in anticipation about what James Gunn’s DCU is capable of.
