The Mission Impossible franchise is potentially one of the most iconic and well-loved franchises in Hollywood. Starring the Oscar-nominated actor Tom Cruise, the movie series has reinvented the action-movie genre and influenced a sub-genre of heist movies that have taken inspiration from the franchise. With each new part that comes out, the stakes increase more and more.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One is set to release soon and it is expected that this will include some intense scenes like the previous movies as the producers tend to outdo themselves every time. In the previous movie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Cruise’s character climbs up a rope that leads to a helicopter, a sequence that he did not use a stunt double form and instead did all by himself. Can we expect something to outdo this in the upcoming movie?
What Crazy Sequence Can We Expect From Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 7?
During a recent interview for Empire with Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One hyped up the fans for what is to come in the upcoming movie. He talked about a potentially intense and fun sequence that will appear, that could outdo Tom Cruise’s helicopter scene from the previous movie.
“South Africa was intense. The aerial sequence is… It’s just outrageous.” he continued, “Since I was a young actor, people go, ‘Well, what do you do next?’ There’s always another mountain to climb. Always.”
It is expected that there will feature an aerial sequence in South Africa that is being described as outrageous. The one thing McQuarrie made clear in this interview is that this movie is clearly trying to outdo Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
Will Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One End On a Cliffhanger?
One of the common things in filmmaking for multi-movie franchises is to end the movies on cliffhangers. Though it’s quite common, it never seems to get old. One will always leave the theater with questions and excitement for what is in store for the next installment. It would seem that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One is taking a similar approach.
“The thing to remember as you’re watching [Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One] is that another monster waits behind it,” he teased.
Since Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One is part of a two-part movie series, it is expected to end on a cliffhanger. But during the interview, Christopher McQuarrie felt the need to tease it anyway. He mentioned that even though the villain of this movie is going to be terrifying, the series has a bigger bad in store for the next movie.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One is set to release on 14 July 2023.
