“I had no desire [to do it], And he could tell.I was too young to be that polite. It didn’t appeal, and there was nothing about the meeting that like jazzed me or made me think, ‘Oh, I’ve gotta do this.’ Nothing clicked. Nothing felt good,”

The actress continued,

“I am way too authentic for my own good. I mean, it’s not good. If I am not impressed, you’ll know. And maybe you shouldn’t know sometimes. And I think there was maybe even a little bit of offense taken.”

The actress could sense bitterness in the director after she rejected to work with him on the script, it did not bother her as she was young and did not want to impress everyone. Lilly was making her own path and did not mind offending a few people while she is at it.
