Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania does not seem to have a positive impact on the MCU, as the film’s reviewed and critical score suggests. The threequel is getting terrible reviews, as some suggest that the film is not even as good as the previous two films in the series. The lead star of the film reportedly does give his best, as he did with the last two films and his other MCU appearances. Jonathan Majors is also getting praised for his role.

However, according to the critics, even they could not save the story of the film. And the critic score of the Ant-Man 3 has many convinced that these reviews for the film would be helpful for the film to compete with the lowest-rated MCU film, Eternals.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania failed to get pleasing reviews from critics. It currently holds a 53% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is not very promising for a Marvel film as it has turned out to be the second-lowest-rated MCU film so far. The 2021 film Eternals has been credited as the lowest-rated film with a 47% critic score.

The 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder, was previously in second place with a 64% critic score. However, with the ratings and reviews out for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it has overtaken Thor 4 as the second lowest-rated MCU film with its 53% critic score and has made it the second MCU film to have the ‘Rotten’ status on Rotten Tomatoes with a green splat beside its critic score.

Critics praised the actors’ performances in the film, as they point out the fault in the story. Although some aspects of the film do turn out pretty well, that is not persistent throughout the whole movie.

Depending on the reviews, fans have also shared their thoughts on whether they are looking forward to the film or not. While some belief the reviews to be genuine, others have termed it as an MCU-hating phenomenon, where critics are simply hating the MCU films as they compare them with previous Marvel films like Infinity War and Endgame.

Fans’ Thoughts on Quantumania’s Rotten Status

With movies like Infinity War and Endgame, the MCU had set the bar very high for its future movies. And as the studio continues to move ahead with its new films and phases, the films do not seem to live up to the expectations. The same thing could be happening to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is set to release this week.

It has become the second film to receive the green splat from Rotten Tomatoes after the 2021 film Eternals. Followed by the initial reviews and ratings of the film, fans also shared their opinions regarding the Ant-Man threequel. The threequel also has the lowest ratings in the Ant-Man film series with the 2015 Ant-Man and the sequel having 83% and 87% critic score, respectively.

And as Quantumania receives dire ratings, fans have suggested that the studio needs to take a couple of years off, before moving ahead with the MCU. Some even started listing the worst MCU movies to date including Ant-Man 3 alongside, Eternals, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to release on February 17, 2023.
