“So much for anti-cheat”: XDefiant has Followed in Call of Duty’s Footsteps as the Anti-Cheat Can’t Keep Up with Hackers Ingenuity

The BattlEye Anti-Cheat system is not enough to tackle the cheaters in XDefiant.

XDefiant and Call of Duty

SUMMARY

  • XDefiant comes under fire for not tackling the cheating problem well enough.
  • Something Call of Duty will know all too well, as its anti-cheat Ricochet can't keep up either.
  • Will this be fixed any time soon? Who knows.

The game was considered to be a Call of Duty killer with its immersive gameplay and stunning visuals. However, there’s no confirmation if this game is going to topple the Activision title, but it’s surely following COD in a certain way.

Since the launch of XDefiant, the game has been going through some serious issues, like server issues and many more. However, the most problematic situation for the game is the atrocity of innumerable hackers.

Recently, a fan shared a gameplay clip where he had to face a disgusting cheater, using speed and auto-aim hacks. This hacker was going all the way around, killing players without any hassle. Despite reporting the player, the hacker wasn’t banned.

Although the player did manage to kill the hacker after several efforts, the nuisance the annoying player created already was enough to disrupt the gameplay experience. Many games these days are facing the terror of cheaters. That’s why most of them equipped themselves with their respective anti-cheat systems. For example, the Riot Vanguard is regarded as probably the best anti-cheat system in the gaming world by many.

XDefiant, too, does have an anti-cheat system called BattlEye. Not only in this game, this software is automatically installed in other popular titles as well, like Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, Destiny 2, and many more. Still, this system is unable to stop the massacre of hackers in this newly launched FPS title. Besides cheaters, the game needs to fix other issues as well.

XDefiant is Just Following the Path of Call of Duty

Not only XDefiant, but Call of Duty also has an anti-cheat system called Ricochet. This system too was thought to be powerful until more powerful cheats came in. There are new and more advanced Warzone cheats that can bypass Ricochet’s anti-cheat system.

These cheats are so advanced that they can turn themselves off when a Ricochet investigation is going on, allowing them to get past the system. Ricochet mainly takes screenshots of the suspected player’s POV to conduct a closer investigation.

However, at the time of taking screenshots, the cheats turn themselves off, so in an investigation screenshot, they don’t exist. That’s why the cheaters have started to exploit the game even more.

XDefiant has every aspect to be one of the best FPS titles of all time. The game was supposed to follow Call of Duty to reach its glory in the first-person shooting arena. But the way the game is following the FPS giants now is pretty concerning for it.

What’s your opinion on this constant exploitation by the cheaters in XDefiant? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
