Kentaro Miura’s Berserk has established itself as an evergreen classic that has redefined the dark fantasy genre, with numerous series heavily influenced by the iconic manga. As a result, the series was adapted into an anime that was as popular as the source material.
Though the series is not part of mainstream popularity, it has the same appeal as popular titles like One Piece, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, and many more. Sadly, the anime came to an end in 2017, but the manga has been continuing.
Fans demand that Miura-Sensei’s work be adapted into anime. However, MAPPA, the studio behind the anime, has ignored the pleas of the fans; instead, they are continuing with an AOT film. As a result, the fans are furious at the studio on social media, criticizing them for ignoring their request.
MAPPA Refuses To Give Berserk’s Anime Adaptation
There’s no denying that Kentaro Miura’s Berserk has been infectiously popular and has established itself as the anchor of the dark fantasy series. The series takes place in a medieval age in the fictional world of Midland, narrating the story of Guts, who goes on dangerous missions as a lone mercenary.
The manga has been nothing short of beautiful, dark artwork, featuring meticulous detail. Moreover, there was a rumor of MAPPA working on a Berserk adaptation has been lurking for ages, but the studio overlooked their cries as they are busy with other projects.
Recently, a reliable news insider page (@otakunewsinsider) on Instagram shared the heart-aching news of how MAPPA, the same studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen, is now working on an Attack on Titan film that will showcase enhanced visuals and better sound.
While the studio thought that the news would stir fervor among the otaku community, instead it backfired as fans lashed out at the news, criticizing them for ignoring their cries for a long period of time.
Berserk Fans Lash Out At MAPPA For Making Another Attack on Titan Project
Hajime Isayama’s magnum opus, AOT, came to a conclusion in 2023, which had a mixed reaction from the fans; some loved it while others despised it. Nevertheless, fans can’t deny that the series did not shy away from showcasing Eren’s ideology and how he was the master of his fate.
Throughout the run of the series, it was showcased how the future can’t be changed and one can never outrun it. However, Eren Jaeger did not shy away from making those sacrifices, as he wanted his loved ones to be really free.
Nevertheless, the thought of rewatching the last 2 parts of the series in film format did not intrigue the otaku community, as the fandom bashed MAPPA for milking the series. They commented,

However, one thing is certain: whenever the series is adapted into anime by the studio, it will break the internet, as the title has a devoted fan following that will leave the fans craving for more.
