Apex Legends can’t catch a break right now as, after the disappointing NA esports finals mid-game hacks, a new issue has now landed with a minor update that was deployed and is setting players back, causing them to lose all the hard work they put into the game over the years.

The game recently received the April Fool’s update and new split of the season, and while it was all expected to go smoothly, the game community has reported widespread issues that are wiping their progress and making them lose cosmetics that they have purchased in-game, and much more.

Apex Legends Is Absolutely Bonkers Right Now

After the update went live, players logged in to find that their character stats and player ranks had dropped and, in some cases, had been reset completely. Instead, they were welcomed with a prompt that cross-progression is available, which has been in Apex Legends for months now.

The issue seems to be affecting almost everything in player’s Apex Legends accounts, and they are frustrated with it all. Players have also reported that the battle pass is unavailable, progression is set back, and heirlooms, cosmetics, and several other items have been wiped from their accounts. There have also been reports of players losing their account levels significantly.

A player said that they have been set back more than 700 levels and have lost half of their cosmetics, including four heirlooms. The player also added that they are getting packs in the game as they return to the menu, which may be a glitch as well.

So, players getting them shouldn’t see it as compensation. Players are also awarded Apex coins, so EA may take them back after the fix. Several players have reported the progression to wipe and account reset, but probably the biggest disappointment for them is losing their Heirlooms and Badges.

These items can only be obtained by completing the collection set during the event, season Battle Pass, and getting the top spot in Ranked mode. Moreover, these items are time-limited and can’t be obtained again after the season or an event ends.

Respawn Is Looking into the Issue and Has Brought an Update

Soon after players started reporting the problems they faced, Respawn acknowledged that it is aware of the problems players are facing in Apex Legends and is investing in them, adding that an update will soon be shared.

The developer said after a few hours that it has rolled out an update to address this issue, and any player logging in will now face the problem of lost progress or content. However, it added that players who have already lost content and progression will have to wait, and it is “working on an additional fix,” but players will have to wait.

Players are definitely not happy with just the fix, as this shouldn’t have happened in the first place, and have asked the developer to recompensate with packs and Apex coins. It remains to be seen how long it takes for Respawn to fix this whole problem.
