The world changed when Robert Pattinson donned the dark makeup and cape of Batman in Matt Reeves’ 2022 film The Batman. Starring alongside Paul Dano, Andy Serkis, and, Will Ferrell, the 2022 film was quite an extraordinary take on the tale of Batman.
Prominently featuring The Riddler along with the interference of The Penguin and Falcone, The Batman showed the detective side of Bruce Wayne. Well, the Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne has been fan-cast as the next Riddler and she agrees with the people’s tweets!

It is oftentimes the case that the actors and actresses have frequent fan interaction with the people on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) a fan tagged Lyonne in the tweet and suggested that she could very well portray the role of The Riddler.
Alongside the words, an art piece was also attached that showed a female Riddler. And with what we know from the end of The Batman (that anyone can be The Riddler), Natasha Lyonne becoming the next Riddler is not that impossible. While the people were discussing and debating it out, the Russian Doll star decided to answer the suggestion herself. Taking to Twitter, here’s what Natasha Lyonne thought of Matt Reeves’ universe and whether she would take on the role or not.

Although the people and Natasha Lyonne both want her to be a part of Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2, it seems that the director is far too busy making preparations of his own. With a new Joker in mind, Reeves is excited to bring Barry Keoghan as the next Joker in The Batman 2 and this Joker cannot stop smiling!

Wanting to bring back one of the most iconic characters of all time, Matt Reeves opted to bring in The Joker for the upcoming Batman film. With Barry Keoghan as the next Joker, Reeves revealed in an interview with IGN that he has chosen and crafted the character very carefully!
“He’s got this congenital disease. He can never stop smiling. And it made Mike and I think about — I was talking about The Elephant Man because I love David Lynch. And I was like, —What if this is something that he’s been touched by from birth and that he has a congenital disease that refuses to let him stop smiling?”
He further continued,
“And he’s had this very dark reaction to it, and he’s had to spend a life of people looking at him in a certain way and he knows how to get into your head.’”
And with what Reeves has to offer, the world is certainly very excited for The Batman 2. As the director and Robert Pattinson busy themselves in the shooting and making of the film, The Batman 2 is slated for a release date of 3 October 2025 across the world.
