While many may not know about this fact today, the star played the role of Mr. Freeze in 1997’s Batman and Robin, which due to being a critical failure, was forgotten for the greater good of the superhero’s legacy. The interesting fact about the film is that Schwarzenegger still owns the suit he wore during filming, for which he also pays a dollar to WB every year to keep owning it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Has To Pay WB $1 Every Year To Own His Mr. Freeze Suit
There have been several films that have either turned into blockbusters or industry icons that Arnold Schwarzenegger has had his hands in. But then, some major disappointments of his acting career are better left forgotten. Among them, the most prominent has to be his role as Mr. Freeze in 1997’s Batman and Robin.
But curiously, the star still possesses ownership of the shiny silver suit he used in the film to portray the villain.

After the success of Batman Forever, which was a reboot of the original 1989 Batman created by Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher took the reigns to carry the legacy of the Caped Crusader forward. His next rodeo was none other than Batman and Robin, which featured George Clooney as the titular main superhero.
Film producer Peter Macgregor-Scott revealed (via The Hollywood Reporter) that since logistics and warehousing were a big issue back then, stars used to carry away some of the costumes and props that were used during filming. They would have to lease them from the production if they were to keep it with them. Thus, the Commando star took home the Mr. Freeze suit and has kept it with him ever since. Macgregor-Scott said:
“Storage after a movie like Batman Forever becomes a real element. A lot of the sets get folded and held so they are available for the next picture if need be. We didn’t keep the cave, because the cave is so unwieldy. You had to make the cave each time. All the unused bat costumes. All the wardrobe saved. The actors would like to walk off with pieces, and we have to be very careful that that happens to an absolute minimum. Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted a costume of Mr. Freeze. It went all the way up to the top of the studio. He had to sign a contract, and I think he pays $1 per year to borrow the costume.”
Thus, the suit became a piece of history that the star now owns to remind him of his career’s ups and downs.

All The Props That Arnold Schwarzenegger Owns
Apart from the aforementioned prop that the star owns in his personal collection, he likes to keep everything important that reminds him of the good old days.
The star still possesses the iconic sword with which he portrayed the character of Conan The Barbarian in the film. Along with that, he also revealed that he has hoarded almost all the amazing guns that were used in the Terminator series along with his wide collection of daggers and big knives.
