Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito could not have been a more unlikely pair in the 1988 film, Twins. The buddy comedy, which followed the story of genetically engineered twins who turn out to be vastly different in physical build, saw both stars have a blast with each other and share excellent chemistry. Twins was a case in point that two celebrities with completely different acting aesthetics could work together seamlessly.
The duo, who shared screen space in other films like Last Action Hero and Junior, have also formed a close friendship over the years. While a Twins 2 sequel titled Triplets was in the works, the demise of director Ivan Reitman in 2022 put a stop to the project. Now, Schwarzenegger has given fans some excitement by allegedly hinting at this much awaited on-screen reunion in a picture with DeVito on his social media page.

1988’s Twins starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito became a popular blockbuster mainly due to the unlikely pairing of the two physically diverse stars and their chemistry together. Fans lapped up a towering Schwarzenegger exchanging sparkling repartees with a dimunitive DeVito, which the duo expanded in other films like Junior and Last Action Hero.
The Terminator star and the Deck the Halls actor were supposed to reunite for a Twins sequel titled Triplets with original director Ivan Reitman on board to helm the project. Unfortunately, with Reitman’s demise in 2022, this project did not see the light of day.
Now, Schwarzenegger has sent fans buzzing with excitement with his latest Instagram post in which he is seen with his close friend and co-star Danny Devito. In the caption, the Commando actor who attended one of DeVito’s plays, praised him and also wrote,
“My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in “I Need That”. He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute – one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart. I can’t wait to work together again.”
This last line in the caption got many fans speculating if the two celebrities would finally reunite for the Twins 2 sequel. While it is still unclear if Schwarzenegger is referring to this collaboration in his post, viewers will be extremely keen for this news to be true, and to see the duo light up the screens again.
