Schwarzenegger has done dozens of action-packed films and has been part of many significant long-running franchises. Before stepping into showbiz, he cemented his legacy in the bodybuilding field and then went to America to become the biggest star.

The True Lies movie actor has played varied and fascinating roles throughout his legendary career. Nevertheless, the movie business is a tough place to work in, and often actors call each other out in their candid interviews, and the 75-year-old actor did the same when Jackie Chan allegedly insulted the actor by saying that any star could have replaced him in James Cameron-directed The Terminator.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s excellent portrayal as the Terminator, a cyborg assassin in the 1984 American science fiction action film The Terminator, ascended him to the heights of superstardom, and he gained the attention of industry heavyweights.

It is impossible to think of any other actor playing his part and stepping into this iconic role. However, Asia’s most successful star Jackie Chan had slightly different opinions as he once mentioned that any other actor could have replaced Schwarzenegger easily and played his part.

The Bleeding Steel actor told Bright Lights Film:

“Even if I do a film with geniuses like George Lucas or Steven Spielberg, no way will I be famous in America. Look at Jurassic Park. Few people know the names of the main actors; they remember the dinosaurs and that it was a Spielberg film. Take Terminator 2. The director’s good; the special effects are good; Schwarzenegger is nothing. Anyone could have played his part.”

Jackie Chan’s remarks didn’t sit well with the Austria-native star, who then took a subtle jab at him in his previous interview.

The Tuxedo movie star Jackie Chan once made some harsh remarks about his 1984 sci-fi film The Terminator, after which the former governor of California reacted to his comments and stated:

“I love the Hong Kong style of action movies, but that only looks good for small guys. There’s no weightlifting champion coming out of Hong Kong – maybe in the bantam division or the lightweight division or something like that, but normally you don’t have really strong men coming out of there . . . they had to learn a technique that small people can do that are as effective as the big guy’s strength. So that’s where the martial arts came from.”

James Cameron-directed The Terminator film helped Arnold Schwarzenegger establish himself as an action leading actor in Hollywood. The flick grossed over $78.3 and received critical acclaim.
