Product placement has become a money-making machine in movies and series for quite a while now. The case seemed to be true as Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds juiced the heck out of their products when they starred in Netflix’s Red Notice.

As per reports by media outlets, the product placement of Dwayne Johnson’s brand of Tequila Teremana earned him almost double the profits that he earned for Black Adam! While Ryan Reynold’s brand of Aviation Gin wasn’t left far behind.

Dwayne Johnson And His Tequila Teremana In Red Notice

Red Notice, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and the wonderful Gal Gadot was received by the millions when it first aired on Netflix. With over 4.2 million streams when it premiered, Red Notice became a powerhouse for Netflix in the year 2021.

With over 100 million streams in the first four weeks after its premiere, Red Notice became a hub for Dwayne Johnson’s Tequila brand Teremana and Ryan Reynold’s Aviation Gin. As per reports by Concave Brand Tracking, out of the 1 hour 58 minutes runtime, around 28 minutes of the movie were dedicated to product placement.

Furthermore, the brand placement that the movie showcases, ended up profiting the stars an astounding $40 million in sales! As per reports, all three actors were paid $20 million for starring in the movie while Dwayne Johnson received an additional bonus being one of the producers. Mercedez Benz received the highest placement time while Aviation Gin and Teremana Tequila were also quite noticeable in scenes in the movie.

Dwayne Johnson Planning To Do Sequels For Red Notice

As per the success that the movie received, it was obvious to make a sequel to the now multi-billion dollar franchise. Dwayne Johnson, following the premiere, released a statement that he plans to do additional sequels to the franchise.

“I would love to do more… it’s up to the audience, so we will see. I will tell you that just based off of reaction so far and what we’ve been able to cull from the audiences, there’s a good chance that we will see a return of this,” 

Although unconfirmed, Red Notice definitely planned to have sequels, one of which was rumored for an early 2023 release but that doesn’t seem to be the case so now. Rumors of the production beginning in early 2023 are abundant on the Internet, and there could potentially be a November 2023 release.
