The currently serving 46th President of the United States of America, Joe Biden has been making a lot of headlines lately. While his uncannily changed behavior in public, with him making unbelievable mistakes out loud, was one thing, his withdrawing from the 2024 U.S. presidential race and endorsing Kamala Harris instead further has him under the brightest limelight of this season.

But while people can’t really make out what is actually going on out there, a lot of old clips of Biden have also been resurfacing lately, mostly from when he served on the County Council and continued his private law practice at the same time. And, surprisingly enough, one of these old unearthed clips from him in court is giving the Breaking Bad fans some serious Saul Goodman vibes.

Joe Biden in the 1970s Literally Gave Saul Goodman Vibes

Around five decades back, after running and winning as a Democrat for the New Castle County Council on a liberal platform, Joe Biden served on the County Council for two years, from 1970 to 1972. During this very time, he continued his private law practice as well. And, boy, was he savage down in the court.

As seen in a clip recently unearthed and shared by @productions86 on X, Biden didn’t hesitate to school everyone in court brutally with a sarcastically knowing smile. He can be heard saying:

Can’t convince me that the guy you’re kicking back to isn’t saying to you or one of your agents at some point, ‘Hey, look. I’m getting $100,000 from you, but Harry, over here, he’s getting $175,000 from, uh, whomever else.’ I mean, you guys didn’t know that was going on?

While the words in themselves are one thing, what further landed the blow was the way he delivered it with that knowing smile on his face that evidently said, ‘What do you mean? I already won.’ As per the details shared, this clip is from 1972 when Biden was only 29 years old.

Even then, this clip gave some serious vibes of one massively fan-favorite character from the Breaking Bad universe: Bob Odenkirk‘s Saul Goodman.

Just like how Saul came across as a self-centered and unscrupulous but dedicated lawyer with a highly intelligent but cunning and manipulative personality, Biden in this resurfaced clip is giving off those same vibes.

If anything, even fans’ of the superhit Better Call Saul series can’t help but connect the dots to make this connection between the fictional character and the real-life currently-serving President of the United States of America.

Well, as all of these reactions already convey the message, the young Joe Biden not only acted like Saul in the court but even looked quite similar to him, especially from the hairdo. That said, perhaps he was the one that inspired Saul’s true confident character in the series? Guess we’ll never know.

You can stream Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul on Netflix.
