During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the outlet asked the million-dollar question to Charlize Theron about sharing the screen to trade punches with Keanu Reeves. That’s when the actress expressed her desire for the same and mentioned waiting for the call.
Charlize Theron And Keanu Reeves’ Common Projects
Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron have been two most notable action stars in Hollywood, for their solo projects John Wick and Atomic Blonde, respectively. Further, the two characters are even considered quite similar, given their skills and penchant for assassination. However, apart from starring in similar action flicks, Reeves and Theron have also worked together.
Appearing in their 1997 horror thriller, The Devil’s Advocate, Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves shared the screen as husband and wife. Apparently, the actress was only 22 years old when she played the role of Reeves’ naive middle-class Florida wife. But certainly, as a newcomer, Theron burned up the screen in their 1997 movie.
Following the success of The Devil’s Advocate, Charlize Theron, and Keanu Reeves again joined hands to appear in their 2001 romantic drama Sweet November. Yet again, the duo appeared as an onscreen couple, only this time they are two sick and twisted people who play mind games on each other and call it love. Sharing the screen as a couple, both the times Theron and Reeves mesmerized their audience with their performance.
Will Charlize Theron Trade Punches With Keanu Reeves?
After initially rising to fame through romantic movies and horror flicks, the duo eventually found their way to action movies. Thus, after witnessing Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron as a couple during their early years in the industry, fans are now willing to watch the duo in action flicks. As both the actors share similar skills in action, fans believe it would be fascinating to witness them throw punches at each other.
Thus, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the outlet asked Charlize Theron if she is interested in fulfilling fans’ demands of fighting with Reeves, onscreen. To which the actress expressed her utmost desire to be in an action thriller with Keanu Reeves. Especially after the duo have achieved mega success from their respective action movies like John Wick and Atomic Blonde, fans want to see them together.
“Listen, as soon as I get the call, I’ll be there. They just have to tell me where, when and I’ll show up. Keanu is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world; I absolutely love him. I respect him, I admire him and I am so grateful that I got to make two movies with him.”
Further, since fans have been hoping for an Atomic Blonde-John Wick crossover, Charlize Theron tickled their curiosity by directly speaking about how Atomic Blonde was inspired by John Wick.
“We both kind of find ourselves in this new stage of our career, and so much of Atomic Blonde was influenced by John Wick. So, if we can get those two characters to meet up in a timeline that makes sense, I’m all about it.”
Ever since then, no further comments have been made about the possibility of a crossover or a joint action movie. So all we can do is hope until it comes true.
