Following the highly-publicized Rust shooting incident, actor-comedian Alec Baldwin has fallen into another predicament. On the evening of Monday, 18th December, the 30 Rock alum found himself in a kerfuffle with pro-Palestine protesters in New York. Footage of the exchange, in which Baldwin was seen getting into a heated confrontation, was posted to social media.

One of the remarks directed at the 65-year-old actor during this clash mentioned the tragedy that struck the production of Baldwin’s upcoming Western, Rust, helmed by Joel Souza. Halyna Hutchins, the pursuit’s cinematographer, was fatally shot in late 2021 when a real bullet went off from a prop gun that Baldwin was holding during the filming of the endeavor.
Alec Baldwin Fell Into A Heated Exchange With With Pro-Palestine Protesters
From footage published on Twitter, the Emmy-winning actor Alec Baldwin was seen engaged in an angry confrontation with pro-Palestine demonstrators during a Manhattan rally. One protestor asked, “Who’s pockets are you in? You work for Hollywood; do you condemn Israel?” as Baldwin was recognized among the crowd near West 29th Street.
To this, a seemingly agitated Baldwin countered, “You’ve already made up your mind to every question you’ve got, right? I’m in Hollywood’s pockets, you said?” It was following this point that the actor grew increasingly exasperated and shouted the following to the protestor, inching closer:
“You ask stupid questions. Ask me a smart question! Ask a smart question!”
As the situation escalated, it was observed that surrounding police officers intervened to escort the actor away. The protestor’s retort came in a series of “Go f—k yourself!” and “Why did you even come here?”

According to The Independent, as the Hollywood celebrity was being led away from the demonstrators, a crowd followed Baldwin, and one of them allegedly made a comment about the fatal shooting incident involving the actor during the production of Rust. The 65-year-old stated he wanted “peace for Gaza” when someone replied, “You did kill someone though, right?”
Reports indicate that Alec Baldwin got caught up in the heated exchange while en route to volunteer to teach an acting class. He hadn’t intended to get involved in the protest.

Protestors Mentioned Alec Baldwin’s Rust Shooting Controversy
The remark hurled at the 30 Rock alum was about the highly-publicized 2021 tragedy that struck the production of the upcoming Western, Rust. On October 21, 2021, director Joel Souza was injured, and cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot when Baldwin’s prop gun fired a real bullet on the Rust set in Bonanza City, New Mexico.
Following the fatal incident, Baldwin denied (via ABC) pulling the trigger. Earlier this year, it was reported that Baldwin would be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. A month later, the actor pleaded not guilty. The criminal charges against the actor were dropped in late April.
On October 17th, 2023, New Mexico special prosecutors stated that new findings indicated Baldwin’s “criminal culpability” in the incident (via Variety). Additionally, the prosecutors announced that a grand jury would be convened in mid-November to determine whether to refile Baldwin’s charges.
The decision of whether to renew the charges may take weeks.
The incident, since, has sparked discussions surrounding the safety protocols undertaken in Hollywood endeavors, particularly concerning the handling of firearms on set.
Following his confrontation with protestors on Monday, Baldwin appears to be in deep water with the public once more.
