Over the years, Assassin’s Creed has released numerous iterations in its franchise from all over Earth’s history, and now there are a few different games in development that fans are looking forward to. For anyone who was hoping for a horror-themed game in the stealth/action franchise, then you might be in luck as a fan-created teaser trailer has been created to show us what it would look like to have an Assassin’s Creed horror game.
Why Has This Fan Created This Assassin’s Creed Hexe Teaser Trailer, and What Is It Based On?
When players think about Assassin’s Creed, the first thought that comes to mind would either be stealth or assassination, but for some, there has always been the hope that horror would somehow become a word that can be used to describe a game in the series. With this fan-made trailer, fans of the franchise can see a small glimpse of what Assassin’s Creed could look like with a horror tone.
Within this trailer, we get a short glimpse of what the in-production game Assassin’s Creed Hexe could look like as the trailer shows a burnt-down village with the quest to find a hidden crypt inside the village. The player character investigates an unearthed grave surrounded by witch symbols and scattered bones around the grave.
Throughout this fan-made trailer, there are a lot of horror clichés as there are voices in the background that whisper to the listener. There is also a dark gloom to the environment as the moon rises, and a slight effect of fog that rolls through the environment, which culminates in a horrifying atmosphere that if a player were adventuring in would constantly provide chills.
This trailer was created by YouTuber Enfant Terrible, who created this video to show players what Assassin’s Creed Hexe would look like if the fan theories of the game followed inspiration from the 16th century and the witch trials which can open the franchise to a lot of horror opportunities, but can also lead to a lot of challenges with its usual formula of gameplay.
What Could This Mean If Ubisoft Follow The Example Of This Fan-Made Trailer?
Throughout the franchise’s history, Assassin’s Creed has made a name for itself by following a very similar pattern to its games; even though recent years have seen a diversion in the franchise. Ubisoft is now looking to bring the franchise back to its roots and create games that are more stealth-based, this could lead to a few issues with a horror-based Assassin’s Creed.
The reason this could lead to a few issues is that there would need to be a perfect combination of both horror and action within the game so that players will have the opportunity to battle the horrors they are put against. Since the central theme would be witches there could be a mystical plotline that encourages the player to fight against the witches.

Even though witches would be the main threat, this would still need to be an Assassin’s Creed game that follows the story that has been progressing through the numerous sequels before it. This would likely lead to some kind of connection with the Templars as they would most likely have to create some sort of witch coven to fit in with the theme. This on its own can cause a few issues with focusing on a horror aspect but could lead to some interesting interactions and environments.
