Replayability is gauged by how much people enjoyed the first experience before running through it again. Developers can incentivize repeated playthroughs by increasing the challenges, adding new things to find in the game, or allowing players to start the game with all their collected gear and experience.

New Game+ is now common in most titles, and many fans are hoping the developers include it in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Redditor Legitimate_Cake_5137 posted to the game’s subreddit, stating that they are replaying Odyssey and hope Shadows has enough content to keep players around once they finish the main questline.

The game’s content is something that many people are eager to witness. Many feel that Assassins Creed Shadows will be a truly next-gen title after seeing Naoe’s combat mechanics. Fluid fight sequences are one draw, but one fan wants the title to have a New Game+ feature to allow players to go through the story missions as a fully accomplished Assassin.

The reply states that Ubisoft has been very sporadic with implementing this feature. It was present in Odyssey but skipped in Valhalla, just as Ghost Recon Breakpoint had it, but it was skipped in Wildlands. It’s unclear what leads to these choices, or why the developer implements it in only select titles. It may be to do with the way the story is structured, but many fans hope it’s present in Shadows.

Ubisoft Addresses Controversies on Cultural and Historical Representation

The studio has finally decided to speak out about the growing discourse regarding the inclusion of Yasuke. Many gamers have been up in arms regarding the presence of a black samurai in the game, stating it is another result of companies such as Sweet Baby Inc. pushing relentlessly for DEI. However, the recent statement is a reminder that while the games borrow from historical events, they are not intended to be an accurate representation of history.

Since the first game in the series, the studio has worked to weave true historical events and locations into the world to make it more believable. While some games also feature a historical tour mode, the story is not meant to be taken as being factual or in any way trying to usurp established historical data.

Many fans have already stated that the debates and arguments about Yasuke are not substantive. The fact that he was a true samurai or not does not have any sway on the game when the studio intends to set him in a fictional narrative, one that also includes gods conversing with mankind and divine artifacts.
