Astro Bot was the highlight of the latest State of Play and the gaming community is excited to play Team Asobi’s latest project. The expectations are for the family-friendly title and recent comments of a trusted insider increased the hype even more.
It may not be the kind of game that the majority of the community is looking forward to, but there are things to behold like the great attention to detail of Team Asobi. The gameplay and nature of the upcoming project are perfect for players under any demographic.
Astro Bot Is Already a Game of the Year Contender

There are a lot of factors how to determine which game is worthy of being a contender for Game of the Year, fortunately, sales are not one of them. The hefty price tag of Astro Bot could sway casual gamers away and they would prefer to buy it for a lower price. A handful of people were able to play the game and have some strong words about it.
Astro Bot is already game of the year and I've only played 20 minutes. We'll talk about it on Bombcast Revengance this week.

Jeff Grubb is a trusted insider and his reputation precedes him. Grubb has gained credibility from his previous works and his comments about Team Asobi’s upcoming game should be held with the highest regard. Team Asobi has done an incredible job honoring classic PlayStation franchises including recreating the toy gun of Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The gaming community can form their opinions without having to watch or listen to someone else but Grubb doesn’t take initial reactions like this lightly. Perhaps his comments were slightly exaggerated as he was caught in the heat of his play time but the community already anticipated it being a great entry.
Team Asobi Could Bring Home the Bacon With Astro Bot
![The fun and cute nature of Astro Bot made it easy for the developers to work with.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/31081823/astro-bot-state-of-play-1024x577.jpg)
Team Asobi could have played it safe in previous years and went all out with this year’s upcoming game. All those years of experience are being put to good use and it could help the studio bag the title of Game of the Year from Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards.
It is always exciting to see how industry insiders justify their claims and how these opinions will impact the gaming community. It is evident that there is an audience for this type of game and the studio could continue to develop more especially if this game wins a prestigious award.
There are a handful of decent triple-A video games that were released this year which could make things harder for Team Asobi. Perhaps the developers anticipated the fierce competition and planned for a much safer release window later this year.
The innocent and family-friendly nature of this franchise is worthy to be recognized as a potential contender for Game of the Year and the gaming community is ready to be blown away with what Team Asobi has cooked up.
