The first-ever gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the next installment in the franchise, is finally out. The highly-anticipated game will be launched in Fall 2023. As several fans had pointed out in the announcement trailer in 2021, the game will mark the debut of Kraven the Hunter, and in the latest game, he’s in search of an equal. This spells bad news for the Spider-Men, Peter Parker, and Miles Morales.

The gameplay reveal showcased Kraven’s Hunters, the latest enemy faction, who are in pursuit of capturing Dr. Curt Connors, also known as The Lizard. Besides, the game will also see Peter Parker in an all-new avatar. The character will be donning the highly coveted and beloved Black Suit, and the trailer shows that he is more than ready for a fight. However, the fans might not be completely convinced by the idea of a Venom fake-out.

Fans Not Happy Seeing Peter Parker Don The Black Suit

Beyond the new looks, the Symbiote-bound hero can be seen with some exciting new tricks. While fans have already seen Spider-Man knocking heads, the new take on the character could have some fresh implications. The gameplay shows the character to be more aggressive than before. However, fans are not loving the idea of ditching Eddie Brock’s Venom story arc and have started calling out the game developer Insomniac for it.

The super-popular suit comes with new combat abilities, using which players will be able to neutralize their enemies with finesse. The new suit will enable users to strike back with aggressive moves or cast a web to take down opponents in difficult situations in the game. Players can also activate a classic dodge to get away from dangerous attacks; however, some attacks won’t be easy to dodge and will require a parry to evade them properly.

The game developer has claimed that the animators have put in a lot of work to provide a more impulsive Peter Parker that matches the energy of the symbiote without compromising on his combat moves. The developers have also added new takedown moves for more powerful enemies, and new combat animations have also been added.

The gameplay also showed the instant switching functionality between the playable characters. And, if that wasn’t all, traversal gets a noticeable boost in the new game. Both characters can deploy the Web Wings, allowing them to move around the city swiftly.
