Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is as perfect as the human embodiment of the character will ever get. From physicality to his looks, just as fans allege it is as if the actor was born to be Tony Stark. And all thanks to this unique fact, every scene, every moment the actor has been on screen has become iconic.
But for Marvel head Kevin Feige, there are multiple scenes from the first movie that are so embarrassingly bad that he has absolutely refused to have them come out to the public. Even as the first Iron Man has completed 15 years, Feige won’t have those three scenes ever released, as producer Jeremy Latcham revealed in an interview.

Kevin Feige Refuses To Release Unseen ‘Embarrassing’ Robert Downey Jr. Scenes
It is a norm that scenes that end up being shelved are released later for the audience to enjoy and Marvel fans have so far enjoyed the practice. However, some deleted scenes of Robert Downey Jr. from the first Iron Man movie have never been released and according to producer Jeremy Lattcham, they have no chance of seeing the light ever.
While talking to ScreenRant he revealed that there are at least 3 scenes that are so embarrassing that Kevin Feige has absolutely refused to make them public.
“There are still three or four deleted scenes from [Iron Man] that I don’t think will ever be released because they were so bad. I remember Kevin saying to me in 2012, when I was like, ‘Should we put the Abu doing laundry deleted scenes out?’ And Kevin was like, ‘No. We can never put out Abu doing laundry. People will know we don’t know what we’re doing. It’ll be embarrassing if they see these scenes.'”
While he didn’t reveal the details about the other scenes, this one apparently involved Tony Stark doing laundry for the Ten Rings on top of building a missile for them.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark Builds The Mark 1 Suit Doing Laundry
In the first Iron Man movie, Tony Star can be seen secretly building his first Iron Man suit, Mark 1 from ‘scraps’. The deleted scene that Feige refuses to release has Stark stealing parts from the washing machine and secretly assembling them to build his suit, just as Latcham revealed in his interview with ScreenRant,
“But there was a whole runner in Iron Man where Tony Stark was doing laundry and I don’t think they’ve ever come out. Someone should look into it, but I don’t think they’ve ever been seen. Tony is doing laundry for the captors, but he’s really breaking the washing machine and stealing parts from it to build the Mark 1 suit. It’s so absurd. It’s wild.”
These striking details prove how inventive Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is unlike his fellow Avengers. Rather than relying on speed, might, or the power of time, Stark is a different kind of a ‘superhero’, one who uses his intelligence to save the world. This unique perspective only gives us another reason to love the ‘playboy philanthropist in a tin suit’.
Iron Man can be streamed on Disney+.
