Marvel Studios is on a streak. But not a good one at that. Things have not gone too well for the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since the release of its magnum opus, Avengers: Endgame. What fans have witnessed since then is a run of mediocre projects, with the odd bright spots here and there to keep fans interested in the franchise. And it seems like they are having a hard time snapping this run. An attempt in this direction will be the WandaVision spin-off miniseries focusing on the witch Agatha Harkness. But even the miniseries has had its fair share of troubles.

Agatha started out as one of Vision and Wanda’s neighbors in WandaVision. But the Scarlet Witch soon found out that she was not who everyone thought she was. The character, essayed by Kathryn Hahn, was in reality the witch Agatha Harkness, a character who has found mention in Marvel Comics.

Though at the end of WandaVision, her future prospects in the MCU don’t look promising (well you can never say never with Marvel), but the people at the helm of MCU wanted to explore the character even more. Hence, the decision to come out with a spin-off. But it’s been a long wait for the fans.

Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe gets its fourth overall (and third new) title

Agatha: House of Harkness was announced all the way back in 2021, with Kathryn Hahn retaining the titular role. The series which was being developed by Jac Schaeffer was all set to release in Late 2024. And ever since, it has found its way into the news. But for all the bad reasons.

The series starring the likes of Joe Locke, Miles Gutierrez, and Aubrey Plaza, has made headlines for being retitled again and again. Originally Agatha: House of Harkness, the series was renamed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos come July 2022. It would again be renamed to Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. And if this wasn’t enough, a new name was in order, with the show officially being renamed as Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe. And fans couldn’t be more tired of the same.

The new title means that Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe has had its fourth title in the span of a little over 3 years. And fans can’t seem to wrap their head around these constant changes.

No one can be sure about what is the real deal behind so much chopping and changing with the title. There is even a crazy conspiracy theory which suggests that these new names are the titles of the episodes.

No matter what the truth is, there is no denying the fact that fans have considerably lost their interest in the show. Marvel is already facing a tough time. It looks like they are facing the prospect of another sub-par performance unless they are able to conjure up something out of the box in Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe. Marvel would love to do that as well.
